The Atkinson Firefighters Annual Turkey Raffle turns 80!
For 80 years, the Atkinson Firefighters Association has sponsored the Atkinson Turkey Raffle!
The Turkey Raffle has become a staple to the town and every year, we have hundreds of patrons line the fire department to partake in a night of fun where you could earn the chance for a prize basket, a turkey, or even the grand prize which comes with all the pickings for a full turkey dinner.
What is the Turkey Raffle?
- The Turkey Raffle is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Atkinson Firefighters Association typically on the second or third Saturday of November.
- Mailers are sent out in advance to all residents of Atkinson, the mailers are a chance for a grand prize entry.
- numerous other "smaller" raffles take place throughout the night including a 50/50 raffle, a door raffle, and even some smaller drawings for chance at prizes.
- The main event of the night is a series of 20 raffles. Each raffle entry either $0.25, $0.50, or up to $1.00.
- These raffles are divided up into A and B prizes, a yellow or blue ticket, the rules are simple, we spin for a number if your number is picked, you earned one of the two prizes.
- Next we spin for the color of your ticket, if your color is picked you win the primary prize and a free turkey just in time for Thanksgiving!
